Comments:

When Thomas Friedman says the world is flat, he means the world is connected. The connection is primarily through the internet via high-speed fiber-optic connections from country-to-country. These connections are from the USA to China, India and other emerging countries. These countries have people who work incredibly hard and leaning the new technology. They work in the call centers, universities and off-shore programming centers. Should America be afraid? Well, if we do not invest our dollars and time into education, science, math, technology and embrace the global market (call by Friedman Globalization 3.0) then yes. However, ff you look at this shift as new opportunity, an incredible new global market then no. The world and its people are ever-changing. Do you fear change or embrace it? That s the question. Friedman message to America is to recognize “Globalization 3.0”, embrace it and prosper as a nation. It will take hard work, but we Americans are use to hard work, that s how this country was built. Let us not become too comfortable.
